WHY DO I EAT SO WELL & STRUGGLE WHILE OTHER PEOPLE DRINK DIET COKE OR MT DEW AND DON'T?


This used to make me SOOO MAD!


And it's still a trigger for me sometimes. Not in the same way anymore, but it does light me up inside.


You try SO HARD.


You do EVERYTHING RIGHT. (you know what I mean here)


And then some girl or guy over there has the NERVE to just eat a burger with a regular white BUN and apparently be FINE WITH IT?


Maybe your boyfriend, maybe your husband, maybe just anyone around you at any restaurant these days?


It's a love hate relationship.

You hate that they do that (and get away with it)

You would LOVE to be able to have that kind of freedom with food.


To just eat something without 1,000 thoughts going through your mind first analyzing it in every which way.


>>Is that gluten free?

>>I wonder how much sugar that is

>>Is it grass fed, organic?

>>Did I already eat red meat this week?

>>I better get the salad

>>But too many veggies might hurt my stomach

>>I should have brought my own dressing

>>but I said I was doing no sugar

>>ugh my brain hurts

>>i'll just eat whatever I want it doesnt seem to matter anyways


Or something like this?


These people who just order the burger, eat the burger and go about their way have something on you/us though:


They LIKE the burger.

They don't worry about it too much.

They don't make the burger MEAN anything beyond it's what they want to eat for dinner.


Less worry, less stress, less "i can mess this up vibes"


And you nor I cannot say what the status of their health is right now, or know how that burger is making them feel, inside outside or mentally.


But this is true:


What we judge, we are really judging in ourselves.


We kind of (really) HATE that food can't just be food. That we "have to" think so much about it. And it's ramifications, and all the moving parts.


Food is SO ENGRAINED in our culture socially.


Family dinners.

Grab dinner with friends.

Date nights.

Breakfast, lunch, dinner come at you every new day.


You have to know what to eat. To know how to eat. To be at EASE with eating.


And yes, it's totally not fair that some people are chugging sugar soda and have no apparent digestive issues while you shop the organic section, have read all about antibiotics, sugar, parasites, food sensitivities, and eat so many vegetables already and are the one in pain or struggling.


Except that.....


There IS something in this for you.


I fully believe that when we have issues with our health it's a bigger call than just hey change your diet up girl.


It's a lesson. It's a learning. It's something greater on the other side of this for you.


Maybe it's understanding how to take care of yourself better, maybe it's calling you to your higher self, (I believe this is a big one for many of us, to look to a greater power than just us, to give up control)


Maybe it's a reason around needing to know food more intimately so you can help others. Or so that you can raise a family in good health.


That was one of mine for sure, and many other reasons. I had to learn to TRUST. Myself. My gut. My food was a bridge to it.


I knew inside some of my behaviors that I thought were healthy weren't really good -


Like hardly eating all day and then binging at night.

Like drinking diet pepsi.

Like eating sugar free everything and basing my decisions around calories.

Like doing IVF when I didn't want to.

Like keeping my feelings inside when I was scared and wanted to look strong instead of be vulnerable.


Everyone is on a journey.

We literally CANNOT look at anyone else and how they eat and make ANY sense of it. Until you dig in and know more about who they are.


This is about you and everything YOU have going on.


You CAN be a person who doesn't need to worry so much about foods and eating out, and eating anything other than your SAFE foods.


But you have to move through the inflammation first. The gunk, the crap that is stagnant inside your gut and your mind. To see what it's about, and what it's trying to tell you.

That's NOT too much to ask.


You have to know this.
